Cleantech Cluster
Helps Finnish Cleantech companies to establish contacts with international markets
Finland is actively enhancing environmental business. Lahti Science and Business Park Ltd coordinates Finnish National Cleantech Cluster, a six-year-programme that aims at enhancing the growth of cleantech companies. The cluster gives small and medium-sized enterprises advice and services that help them to network and internationalise their business. For foreign companies the cluster represents a gateway for finding partners in Finland.
In the cluster there is also a couple of major enterprises onboard that have already established themselves on the international market and now drive the rest of the industry, setting up networks with smaller Finnish enterprises and foreign companies that are interested in Finland.
The Finnish Cleantech Cluster is made up of the four most notable centres of expertise within the Cleantech sector in Finland: Kuopio, Lahti, Oulu, and Helsinki and the surrounding areas. Each of the four centres of expertise specialises in different aspects of cleantech expertise and strives to promote the growth and internationalisation of the associated businesses. The four centres of expertise cover around 60 percent of Finland's Cleantech business and 80 percent of cleantech research.
The centres of expertise collaborate with each other and network not just with local businesses but also local academia. Collaboration between businesses and scientific research is vital to Finland's competitiveness.
The cluster welcomes international organisations to join the collaboration.
