THE SIXTH CLEANTECH VENTURE DAY gathered over 60 international investors and a record number of pitching companies and participants to Lahti.

Hot and steamy Nordic Cleantech Open Final

The Nordic Cleantech Open 2012 hosted the opening night at a sold out gathering at the Aalto Venture Garage. Hope you had a chance to take a peak at the Start-Up-Sauna...

The jury included Peter Räke, Innogy Venture Capital, Julia Bertret Veoila Environment, Kaj Jansson, Kemira, Jonas Landström Volvo Technology Transfer, Vesa Sadeharju, VNT Management, Oliver Guthmann, BASF Venture Capital and the winner was a metal cutting cost killer Tomologic and Ultranat – turning ash to gold, came in second. Third place was shared by Black Silicon Solar and MetGen. - CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!

The main day was again at Sibelius Hall by the melting Lake Vesijärvi with last ice leaving the day after our event: so you can say we truly broke the ice! The event was comprised of something old and something new, starting with speed-dating, individual meeting session for investors and entrepreneurs. It was nice to listen to the buzz-sound of 45 investors meeting an almost exactly equal amount of companies looking for capital and all in all amazing 620 meetings took place during that first hour.

The whole day was a big success, truly an international event with pitching companies coming from Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia and Canada! Thanks to our networks of Finnish Environmental Cluster for China and partnership with Golden Bridge we were able to attract investors all the way from China and the last day was dedicated for one2one meetings with the Chinese investors. There were also investors from India and North America, a delegation from Quebec, including companies and investor.

So, now the word is out and everyone knows where to meet when one wants to check out the Cleantech Trends of Nordic. We will continue the efforts in the future as well with some new tweaks and peaks tickling our minds already: You will hear from us soon!
